“I feel very privileged to be part of the annual San Diego Teen Challenge Hank Sauer Memorial Golf Tournament honoring my brother Hank. Of all the different tournaments I have played in as a professional on the European Senior PGA Tour, this one means the most to me and my family. Thank you for supporting Teen Challenge.”

Teen Challenge Offers the Proven Cure for Today’s
Drug Epidemic

Offering the proven cure for drug or alcohol abuse is a way of life for Teen Challenge. For those who enter the Teen Challenge program, we represent a last chance at life and offer hope to those who have long since abandoned it. In addition to its residential recovery facilities for men and women, Teen Challenge conducts drug prevention and education programs in school districts throughout San Diego.

Our goal is to reach at-risk youngsters before they get perilously hooked. Teen Challenge began in 1958, when the Rev. David Wilkerson responded to the desperate needs of young gang members in New York City. Five years later, Teen Challenge of Southern California was established as part of this growing national Christian program. Today, Teen Challenge is the largest and most successful residential recovery program of its kind in the world, with more than 200 centers in the USA and an additional 820 centers in 80 countries.

Often overlooked for its simplicity, the common denominator in the proven cure is a relationship with God through His son Jesus Christ. Of course other dynamics are involved, like discipleship, personal and group counseling and vocational skills development. But the root cure, as reported on ABC World News Tonight with Peter Jennings, is really Jesus. “Addicts are taught that Jesus Christ… can help free them from addictions,” the correspondent reported.

Involvement Opportunities
We need individuals, corporations, foundations and churches to get involved in expanding these exciting programs to help more people by:

·
Considering a gift towards our unrestricted operating expenses.
·
Sponsoring a specific project or help us expand existing programs.
·
Providing monthly support for our after-school educational and outreach programs for at-risk children.
·
Donating cars, stocks and property.
·
Becoming a volunteer at the San Diego center.

Teen Challenge relies entirely on the generous donations, funding and volunteer efforts of individuals, companies and organizations throughout our community in order to offer service at no cost to the student/participant. Community involvement and support is an essential component for substance abuse recovery.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Cor 5:17
